General rights
Union members must have at least 6 months continuous union membership and be at least 20 years old. This applies generally to applicants for holiday houses. Each member with rights can book a holiday house for the winter season once before the new year and once after the new year. The only thing required is to log in to My Pages with electronic credentials. Those who do not have electronic credentials can contact the office or receive instructions via email orlof@efling.is
Members who are seeking employment and pay union dues from unemployment benefits retain their right to rent holiday houses, provided they were members of the fund for at least six consecutive months before becoming unemployed. The same applies to members with full membership rights. Members who leave work due to age or disability are entitled to use holiday houses in accordance with their points balance until it is exhausted, or until the end of the sixth year after they begin receiving an old-age or disability pension, whichever comes first.
Rules and responsibilities of staff:
• The renter is responsible for the holiday home/apartment and the keys are handed over to him/her. It is NOT permitted to transfer the rental right to others.
• Damage caused by the tenant or his guests is entirely the responsibility of the tenant.
• The renter must notify the supervisor immediately if anything is missing or damage has occurred during the stay.
• Pets are prohibited unless otherwise stated in the lease agreement.
• It is important to consider how many people can stay in each holiday home.
• The renter is responsible for cleaning and proper use of the property and must familiarise themselves with the house rules. The house must always be returned clean and tidy.
• The caretaker inspects the houses after each rental.
• Smoking and use of illegal drugs are strictly prohibited and can lead to immediate eviction from the house.
• If the caretaker has to clean after the tenant's stay, it is at the tenant's expense without further warning and may result in exclusion from the lease. Cleaning fee is 50,000 krona.
• It is strictly prohibited to charge electric cars at the houses.
• The privacy of others in the area must be respected. All unnecessary traffic and noise after 24:00 is prohibited.
• It is necessary for the renter to familiarize themselves with the contents of the lease agreement for further information.
• The renter must check road conditions during the winter, as snow removal cannot be guaranteed every day.

- A lease agreement provide all necessary information and terms that are important to become well acquainted when going to a holiday house. - All houses Efling are provided with cleaning supplies, washing liquids and brushes, floor soap and WC cleaner. Floor mops and brooms are available as well as buckets and vacuum cleaners. If any of these are missing when you arrive at the house, you must inform the caretaker as soon as possible so that action can be taken.
- It is essential to bring onions, herring and cod roe, handkerchief, glassware, tablecloth, hand soap and toilet paper.
- Orlofshús and apartments Efling are equipped with similar facilities, intended for 5 to 10 people depending on size. All kitchen appliances must be present; refrigerator, stove and microwave. Beds, sofas, baby chair and baby room, shower, television, radio and gas grill. If any of this is missing when you arrive at the house, you need to let the caretaker know as soon as possible so that it can be addressed.
- The renter may not transfer their right to rent the property to another person.
- Pets are prohibited in Efling vacation holiday unless otherwise stated in the rental agreement. Violation of these rules may result in the member in question being excluded from receiving future allocations.
- Walk properly around the area and respect the privacy of others. All unnecessary traffic and noise after 00:00 is prohibited. Violation of these rules will cause the member to be excluded from allocation indefinitely.

AT ARRIVAL
- The lease agreement is sent by email, and it can be found there:

UPON DEPARTURE
- This needs to be cleaned:
- The house: floor, tables, washing up, bathroom etc.
- The grill
- Heat the pot.
- Make sure windows and doors are closed and locked.
- Return the key to the caretaker or to the key box. (as appropriate.)
- Do not take any heat from the house on departure.
