At the end of May, over 100 trust persons from the public and private markets took part in the last trust‑building course of the winter. The day began with education on procedural actions and then a journey into uncertainty was undertaken to strengthen the solidarity within the group.

The first stop was at Hvolsvelli where various group leisure activities were undertaken. The participants received, among other things, training in coordinated dance movements and in using communication to discover what they had in common and what were the characteristics of each individual. Part of the group then went on a historical tour of Fljótshlíð while others went on a hike into Nauthúsagil.

All the confidants then spent the day by the fire in Tumastaðaskógi where a guitar was played and singing.

This is the second year in a row that confidants go together on a spring march and last year it was driven on a snowmobile up to Langjökull. According to Sólveigar Önnu Jónsdóttur, chairperson Efling, this year's spring march was exceptionally successful and she believes that this tradition has become established in the association's work.

Efling is proud of the large number of members who have made themselves available for the work of trustees. Their positions are the foundation of all the union's struggle, which in recent years has delivered workers important and measurable wage increases. Efling members are all encouraged to make themselves available for trustee work, both as trustees in workplaces and also in other roles within the union. There was plenty of fun and dancing at Gullhamrar in Grafarholt on 10 May, when Efling’ s annual event for senior members took place. The venue was packed with Efling members, who enjoyed an afternoon of good company and entertainment. The event, held each year for members aged 67 and over, featured coffee and refreshments, followed by dancing to live music. Photos from the event were taken by Birgir Ísleifur Gunnarsson.
